News from the OA-IA office

In this chapter, the OA-IA reports on internal matters.

Personnel

In 2025, the OA-IA had ten staff members. One person left and was replaced by a new member of staff.

Training and professional development

Throughout 2025, OA-IA staff participated in various continuing professional development courses, focusing in particular on risk management and artificial intelligence. Some staff members also attended specific modules of the FIS’ introductory training programme to learn about the latest intelligence developments.

Access to official documents and information

The OA-IA works on behalf of the public as part of the decentralised Federal Administration. The public has the right to know what the authorities are doing and how they are fulfilling their mandate. This gives rise to the public’s right of access to information and to the authorities’ obligation to provide it.

During the reporting period, the OA-IA received five requests for access to official documents or information. In three cases, there were no official documents to which access could be granted. In one case partial access was granted. A further case, also involving partial access, was still pending at the end of the year. No requests were refused.
